I figured he'd be a big Zima fan.\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>While love the entire pantheon of old school fight flick archetypes, I have a particular soft spot for the Invisible Man.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it&#8217;s because he&#8217;s more sci-fi than horror, a tragic example of science gone wrong that prefigured so many of the characters which inhabited the superhero comics I read as a kid.  <\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/armagideon-time.com\/img\/221024\/1024d.jpg\" width=\"590\" height=\"446\" title=\"CUZ YOU'VE GOT IT MADE WITH THE GUY IN SHADES, OH NO\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Or maybe I just dig the stylishly creepy aesthetics of his signature combo of full-face bandages and dark glasses.<\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/armagideon-time.com\/img\/221024\/1024b.jpg\" width=\"590\" height=\"436\" title=\"It's just like that one Billy Idol song.  Y'know, ''To Be a Lover.''\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>In any case, the concept always made for an interesting on-screen spectacle combining the celluloid wizardry of the process shot with an assortment of wire-based practical effects that were old hat back when Euripides was a tyke.<\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/armagideon-time.com\/img\/221024\/1024c.jpg\" width=\"590\" height=\"447\" title=\"The Asphyxiated Man, more like.\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Even the absurd bits &#8212; where a supposedly naked individual somehow leaves boot tracks, or fight sequences and the requisite unwrapping scenes which suggest that the transparent terror has six-foot-long arms &#8212; are endearing to me as part of the overall package.<\/p>\n<p>Whether played as a tragic figure, comedic foil, see-through superspy, or Ben Murphy sporting a bedazzled denim jacket, I&#8217;ll always make time to watch some Invisible Man or Woman strut their stuff.<\/p>\n<p>Figuratively speaking, of course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recommended listening:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sPGzXAuL6Co\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While love the entire pantheon of old school fight flick archetypes, I have a particular soft spot for the Invisible Man.
